What is mobile grooming?
Simply put, a full grooming salon on wheels.
We drive to your home with our custom built cargo trailer. Inside is everything you’d find in a traditional salon—bathing station, grooming table, dryers, clippers, and water supply—just compact and self-contained.
How does scheduling work?
To keep your pup in tip top shape and take one more thing off your plate, we keep our clients on recurring schedules between 1-8 weeks. Set it and forget it, we show up on the same day, same time, same great service!
Do I need to be home?
The first time we come to groom your furry friend, yes. After we have established a relationship, we offer latch key service. Simply provide us with access via a door/garage code, etc and pay with a check or by invoice.
Do you need access to power or water?
We do not! Our state of the art grooming trailer is fully self sufficient, temperature controlled and powered by battery. No loud generators, no wires or hoses, all we need is a place to park and access to your furry friend.
What space is required for parking?
About 30 feet of relatively flat, level parking is required. Parking spaces MUST BE FREE OF SNOW AND ICE or other debris. We are happy to review your address and verify you have sufficient space.
Why does mobile grooming cost more?
Salons are not meant to roll around. Building/maintaining a salon that does is not cheap! Services are one-on-one, meaning we are able to groom less pets per day than a traditional salon. In addition, we are a luxury service. We do not cut corners or use 'budget' products. Everything your pet needs is included, no attempts to 'upsell'.
What qualifications do your groomers have?
Owner and pet groomer Ariel has been working in the pet grooming industry for over 10 years and started Velvet Paws in 2023. We take continued education seriously and travel to receive instruction yearly.
Is my pet a good fit for mobile grooming?
While most pets benefit from the low-stress environment provided by mobile grooming, anxious or reactive dogs benefit the most. Dogs who require an extra set of hands or who have complex medical needs may not be a good fit.

Ariel has over ten years of experience working in the pet grooming industry. She started Velvet Paws in 2023 and went mobile as a way to provide better services, develop deeper relationships with pets and their people, and bring the convinience of delivery to dog grooming!
